The OSA is a multi-purpose effective non-lethal self-defense weapon with a laser target marker. It is defined as a short-barreled, four-shot, 18x45mm calibre pistol designed for personal protection using a traumatic cartridge and a flash-bang cartridge. A signal and illumination cartridge may be used for crises.
The gun has a folding bundle of four incomplete chambers and a bedding breech. A special thick-walled steel cartridge case with a groove and electric primer forms a custom barrel for each cartridge chamber.
The gun has a central extractor and a laser target marker beam passes through its hollow axis. This is activated by a switch on the left side of the pistol body and is used for quick target acquisition. The auxiliary sight takes the form of a groove on the top of the cartridge bundle and is topped with a white ball sight.
The initiation of the electric firing of the cartridges is accomplished by a current pulse induced by a trigger-controlled pulse generator. The gun has no safety, which is replaced by the stiffness of the trigger return spring. (DAO system).
