DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHIC SCANNER (DRS) FOR PERSONAL EXAMINATIONS "CONPASS"

The DRS "CONPASS" is a digital radiographic scanner for performing unique personal security searches, using very low doses of ionizing X-rays with high-quality image output.

This technology is based on

  • The use of an extremely narrow slit adjustable X-ray beam and filtering system that allows high-speed examination of the entire body.
  • Detection of the transmitted X-ray beam by a linear array of semiconductor detectors and its conversion into a digital signal.
  • The use of special software for converting the digital signal into a high-quality image, including its optimisation for fast and efficient detection of hidden objects.

DRS "conpass" detects the following dangerous goods

  • Weapons /firearms, knives, etc./ made of metals, ceramics, plastics, wood and other materials.
  • Any objects that can be used as weapons /needles, nails, scissors, etc.
  • Components made of explosive detonators, wires, etc.
  • Plastic/liquid explosives.
  • Narcotics /including ingested in protective packaging.
  • Electronic devices.
  • Gems and metals.
  • Chemical and biological materials in protective cases.
  • Any items that may be considered dangerous or prohibited for a specific use .

Areas of application

  • Checkpoints for means of transport (airports, ports, railway and bus stations).
  • Border control of persons for the needs of the Police and Customs.
  • Sensitive checkpoints in departments such as government departments, nuclear power plants, military premises, embassies, VIP security, etc.
  • Prison service - control of prisoners, visitors and staff.
  • Processing plants for precious stones, precious metals, etc.
  • Digital imaging is an X-ray "medical" projection that reveals any hidden objects under a person's clothes or in their entrails.

Technical characteristics

  • matrix Display: 2688 pixels x 1000 pixels,
  • spatial resolution of dangerous objects,
  • objects with low contrast 1-2 mm,
  • high contrast objects min. 0.18 mm,
  • scanning time: 8 s,
  • imaging time: real-time,
  • personal radiation dose: less than 1 ųSv,
  • dimensions: 225 cm x 199 cm x 247 cm,
  • weight: 650 kg,
  • power: 220 V/110 V, 0 Hz/60 Hz, 2 kW.

RADIATION SAFETY: The DRS "Secure scan" is fully compliant with international standards and the recommendations of the US National Council on Radiation Protection and Measurements /NCRP/, whereby people should not receive more than 1 mSv/year (millisievert = 1,000 ųSv) from non-medical radiation sources without taking into account natural radiation. The radiation dose received by the persons examined shall not exceed 2 ųSv per examination. This can be compared to a minimum of an hour's flight in an aeroplane at a height of 10 km.
